Security Glazing Technical Introduction

SECURITY GLAZING SYSTEMS

Fendor have invested heavily in their new Security Glazing Systems. The aim was to raise the bar in standards of security glazing systems, as feedback from the market was that the systems available from most security glazing companies were generally old in design and did not give the visual flexibility or the technical performance needed in today’s market place.

In today’s security conscious society anyone concerned with building design has to assess the real risk of attack to a prospective project. With pressure from insurance companies to reduce their risk and functional requirements imposed by clients designers need to understand current product development and availability.

The systems Fendor Ltd has developed were designed for the following building types: -

Banks and Building Societies
Mental Health Hospitals
Secure Units
Prisons
Holding areas
Communal entrances to housing blocks
Museums, Art Galleries and other building with high value contents
Cash handling areas
MOD

The above buildings can be split into 2 distinct categories.

Buildings that stop people getting in (external attack).
Building stopping people getting out (internal attack).
